Training and attributes

Your player has six attributes: Pace, Shooting, Passing, Dribbling, Defending and Stamina. Each training raises one of them, and the match uses them every time your player is involved.

What counts for your position

  • Attacker: scores goals. Shooting and pace count most.
  • Midfielder: links play. Passing and stamina count most.
  • Defender: wins the ball. Defending counts most, and pace stops counter-attacks.
  • Goalkeeper: stops shots. Defending and stamina count most.

Session lengths

Pick a drill and a length. Short sessions suit a quick visit, long ones suit a night or a working day. Each length has a base gain:

  • 15 minutes: 10 energy, base 1.
  • 2 hours: 30 energy, base 4.
  • 8 hours: 60 energy, base 10.

How much of the base reaches the attribute depends on how close it is to the league cap. In the first half of the way from the league below to the cap, each base point adds 0.3. Up to 80% of the way it adds 0.15, and in the last stretch 0.075. So an 8-hour session adds 3 early on and 0.75 near the cap. The Player and Training screens show the band: Fast gains, Steady or Slow.

Only 4 of the 6 attributes can be trained on a given day, and each one rests at least once every 3 days, so check which drills are open.

Club or personal training

  • Club training is free, uses your club's coaches and training ground, and pays a small wage.
  • Personal training costs coins, gives 50% more gain and pays no wage. You can do it twice a day.

Energy

Energy goes up to 100 and comes back at 1 point every 10 minutes. Training, side jobs and matches use it. Your player does one thing at a time: a training or a side job, never both.

The league cap

Each league caps the attributes: 40 in the village and district leagues, 60 in the regional league, 80 in the national league and 99 in the world league. At the cap, training gains nothing, so the next step is moving up.

Free points

Every player gets 10 free points to put on any attributes, on the Player screen. They count toward the cap and toward the bands. You can take them all back and place them again for free, once a season.

Coaches and a better training ground raise every club training. The guide to the ground, facilities and staff explains how.
